"Chapped Lips"

Writing “Chapped Lips” was just a coded way of getting out the deeper emo-tions I was feeling while losing someone who felt like home. It was a way of admitting I think I’m a selfish asshole sometimes because I take, and take, and take while my partner gave, and gave, and gave. Throughout the song I’m rem-iniscing on that dynamic playing out in the more classic, light-hearted and ro-mantic image when I would kiss the Chapstick off my partner’s lips so I wouldn’t have to put on my own. Being stuck with chapped lips and dry skin obviously sucks, and being stuck feeling cracked and broken, like days are just floating by, sucks even more
